Brainstorm & Ideate
The client had a vision in mind and wanted a simple kind of design. Below, you can see what I sketched up for the business card design. The design definitely needed to show what kind of business it is.
So I designed a wavy design that would imitate the curve of the human spine. This design needed to be easily conveyed across all marketing material including the half-page ad and price sheet that the client requested designs for.

Design Mockup
After coming up with the design for the business cards, I went ahead with Adobe Illustrator and recreated the designs. I wanted to keep it simple. The orange color was used to bring attention to specific parts of the card so that potential customers would focus on the most important information. You can see the final layout.

Here, you can see that I incorporated the same design for the price sheet so that there is consistency throughout the business brand.

More Design Mockups
Along with the business cards price sheet, the client has requested a gift certificate for customers. This also needed to have the same design. For this gift certificate, I made sure the design followed where the customer's eyes would potentially go while reading the information on it.

Takeaway
Though this was a small branding project, I really enjoyed being about to use my newly acquired UX/UI design knowledge to good use while working on a project that leans more toward the traditional graphic design route. At the end of the day, they will intertwine eventually no matter what you're doing sometimes.
